Bullets target K60m from CAF match

Nyasa Big Bullets are targeting K60 million in revenue from their CAF Champions League preliminary round first leg against Simba SC.

The People’s Team host the Tanzanian giants at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe tomorrow.

Nyirenda: Pre-sale of tickets going on well

The TNM Super League defending champions’ chief executive officer Suzgo Nyirenda said in an interview on Thursday that they expect to realise the amount from gate revenue and broadcasting rights.

He said: “We expect to hit over K60 million considering that the pre-sale of tickets seems to be going on well. Some of the revenue will come from TV and broadcasting rights.

“We are just urging our supporters to hurry up and buy the tickets as they are going at a quicker pace.”

Meanwhile, the hosts, who travelled to Lilongwe on Tuesday, got the feel of the match venue on Thursday.

Bullets chief administration officer Albert Chigoga said they will train again at BNS today.

“We made prior arrangements with the authorities for the team to train on Thursday and on Friday we will also train there as per rules,” he said.

The return leg will be played on September 18 in Tanzania and if, successful, Bullets will face the winner between Zambia’s Red Arrows and Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto.

The second round first leg will beplayed on the weekend of  on October 7-9 and second leg on October 14-16.

Bullets hold Malawian clubs’ best performance record in CAF club competitions after reaching the knockout stage of the Champions League in 2004.
